I received an email from a massage parlor the other day, talking about how they can take the traditional chocolate and flowers to a whole new level with their 100% Organic Cacao and hot stone massage. And do you wanna know how much they are charging per person for this massage?? $150.00!
Now my first thought was to ditch the email and forget all about it,
but then I had an idea…
Why not create a DIY chocolate massages recipe for couples looking to do something in home, but special and on a affordable budget.
So below I have created the items you will need, where to buy all the ingredients and the preparation steps. I’m pretty sure you don’t need application help 😉 So I’ll leave that to your imagination…
Making DIY Chocolate Massage Bars
- 3.5 oz Raw Cacao Butter
- 1 tbls Raw Cacao Powder
- 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil (optional)
- or 5 drops Cinnamon Essential Oil (optional)
Items You Will Need:
- 2 bowls about the same size or a pot with a bowl that will place over the steaming water
- Mixing spoons
- Cacao Powder
- Raw Cacao Butter
- Organic Peppermint Essential Oil
- Organic Cinnamon Essential Oil
- 1 -2 Large Massage Stones
- A few towels
I’ve included a great tutorial below for prepping to make the cacao massage bars, but I wanted to note – that you can also use the warm liquid chocolate and large massage stones just the way it is for a more tantalizing experience!
In this case you will want to pre-warm the stones. The fastest way to do so, is to wrap your stone or 2 in a wet hand towel and place in the microwave for a few minutes. The stones should be warm to the touch without being to hot to handle. If you are curious as to how to use hot stones when giving a massage, I’ve created another post for that called, “How To Give A Great Hot Stone Massage“.
Your spouse can either use the stones to massage the chocolate around, apply with a soft markup brush or massage in the warm rich chocolate sauce with his or her hands!
