List Of Essential Oils That Are Edible

The FDA has created a list of essential oils that are all consumable, below I have provided that very list. One thing to note is that when consuming essential oils… they’re concentrated versions of the plant – so you NEED to dilute them when consuming them. NEVER take undiluted essential oils. A good rule of thumb is a 2% dilution – which is 12 total drops of essential oils to 1 fl oz of carrier oil or water ratio.

When cook with essential oils, please do so with caution and follow the instructions as directed for consumable use. Essential oils are all natural, but when miss used can cause serious reactions.

Even though the FDA has approved this list of essential oils as safe for consumption… I personally do not consume or cook with essential oils. I much rather use the herbs or fruit rinds myself then an oil. But that’s strictly my personal preference. I just really like cutting up fresh herbs and making zest. I know the topic of whether or not it is safe to consuming essential oils goes both ways, so I would just highly recommend that if you choose to consume essential oils that you make sure to properly dilute them before ingesting them.
